AAR/WR Awards Competitions


AAR/WR 2010 Student Paper Competition:

AAR/WR invites its adjunct faculty and independent scholar members to compete for best paper award. Eligible entries must be papers already accepted for presentation on the 2010 AAR/WR program; winning entrants must be registered for the 2010 conference and present their papers in person. Only registered adjunct faculty and independent scholars who have had a paper accepted and will present this paper at the March 2010 meeting at Arizona State University are eligible. Awards will be given to the papers that present the most intellectually sophisticated and rigorous treatment of a topic related to the conference theme. To be considered for this award AAR/WR adjunct and independent scholars who have accepted papers must attend the 2010 AAR/WR conference and present the paper in person. Awards will be announced and given at the WECSOR reception. To be considered for this award adjunct and independent scholars should send an e-copy of their finished papers to Arisika Razak, President, AAR/WR (email: arazak@ciis.edu): Deadline for or submissions is no later than March 1, 2010.

2009 AAR/WR Award Winners in Student Paper Competition:

First Award of $ 300 to Seth Clippard for "The Conversation Between Deep Ecology and Buddhism" (Arizona State University)

Second Award of $ 200 to Sarah Robinson for "Islam, Ecology and Environmental Justice" ( Claremont Graduate University)

Third Award of $ 100 to Patricia Power for "Blurring the Boundaries: The American Messianic Jew" (Arizona State University)
